Private Lessons

Private lessons provide a great opportunity to receive individualized instruction. These lessons must be arranged by the individual with the School of Music Director.  Semester Dates are March 18 - June 7. All students will participate in a recital at the end of the semester. The recital is on Friday, June 7 at 6:30 PM.

Private Lesson rates are as follows: 

- 1/2 hour lesson (weekly): $120/month 
- 45 minute lesson (weekly): $140/month 
- 1 hour lesson (weekly): $160/month

We currently offer private lessons for the following:

Piano Courses:
Classical Piano
This course offers an introductory study of the piano, including basic theory, piano technique, transposition, sight-reading, improvisation, and ensemble playing.
Ages 8+

Keys for Worship
This course teaches the basic skills required to play keyboards in a worship team setting, including basic theory and chord structure, transposition, chart reading, improvisation, and ensemble playing. Previous piano experience is recommended but not required.
Ages 10+

Voice Courses:
Voice
This course teaches singing of all styles with a classical approach to technique. Students will learn healthy singing by focusing on breathing and support, posture, diction, and tonal quality, and will learn to apply these principles to any style of music. Some ability to read music is recommended but not required. 
Ages 10+

Sight Singing
This course focuses on sight singing and ear training using a variety of instructional techniques, including solfege and Kodaly methods. It is highly recommended that the student have some ability to read music.
Ages 10+

Strings Courses:
Guitar 
This course will teach basic guitar techniques, including scales, chords, riffs, rhythm, and reading tabulature. The student will be required to become proficient in scales, be able to perform at least one song with the accompaniment of another musician (teacher or student), and have a working knowledge of some basic music theory & notation.
Ages 10+

Violin
This course will introduce basic violin techniques, including finger positions, scales, and tuning.
Ages 6+

Cello
This course introduces basic cello techniques, including finger positions, scales, and tuning.
Ages 10+

Brass Courses:
Trumpet
This course will teach students the basics of playing the trumpet, including embouchure, note fingerings, and basic theory.
Ages 8+

Trombone
This course will teach students the basics of playing the trombone, including embouchure, note positions, and basic theory.
Ages 8+

Baritone
This course will teach students the basics of playing the baritone horn, including embouchure, note fingerings, and basic theory.
Ages 8+

Euphonium
This course will teach students the basics of playing the euphonium, including embouchure, note fingerings, and basic theory.
Ages 8+

Tuba
This course will teach students the basics of playing the tuba, including embouchure, note fingerings, and basic theory.
Ages 8+

Woodwind Courses:
Flute
This course will teach students the basics of playing the flute, including embouchure, note fingerings, and basic theory.
Ages 8+

Saxophone
This course will teach students the basics of playing the saxophone, including embouchure, note fingerings, and basic theory.
Ages 8+

Clarinet
This course will teach students the basics of playing the clarinet, including embouchure, note fingerings, and basic theory.
Ages 8+

We may also be able to arrange private lessons for other instruments, depending on the availability of an instructor.
